Financial Aid

FAFSA

Did you know the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is students’ ticket to receiving scholarships, grants and work-study? But, only 44% of Colorado high school seniors completed the form in 2018, leaving more than $32 million in aid on the table – unclaimed taxpayer money that could bridge the gap for tens of thousands of students.

FAFSA FAQs

Colorado ASSET

ASSET students are now eligible to apply for state financial aid through an online application called Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA). Non-U.S. citizen residents and non-resident students can use the application to apply for institutional aid.

The application calculates a needs-analysis using the same methodology employed by the FAFSA. We ask that you encourage students to apply for all aid they’re eligible for, no matter their citizenship status.

CASFA positively supports families and is a logical next step in efforts to erase equity gaps and put college in reach for the families who benefit most from a postsecondary education. CASFA also supports the department’s efforts to make college more affordable by reducing the cost of obtaining a credential and maximizing a student’s higher education investment.
